Chhau Dance Workshop – Celebrating Heritage

Salwan Public School organised a dynamic two-day Chhau Dance Workshop on 18th and 19th of July 2025. It was conducted by the artists of the Shri Ram Bharatiya Kala Kendra Repertory. The workshop was attended by 35 enthusiastic students and dance teachers, to engage themselves in the classical dance form from Eastern India.

The sessions introduced participants to the unique blend of expression, rhythm, and athleticism that defines Chhau. Guided by experienced artists, the students explored the rich storytelling traditions and symbolic gestures that make Chhau a vibrant representation of India’s cultural heritage.

The session led the participants into India’s artistic past, fostering respect for traditional art forms while nurturing creative expression. It was an enriching experience fostering cultural literacy and holistic learning.
