Empowering Green Minds MGICCC Workshop for Teachers

Teachers from Salwan Public School, Rajendra Nagar attended training programmes organised by the Mahatma Gandhi Institute for Combating Climate Change (MGICCC), Government of NCT of Delhi, at Bakoli, Alipur on 8th October 2025. The initiative aimed to promote awareness of waste management and renewable energy solutions through experiential learning.

The Day 1 session on Plastic Waste Management was conducted by Dr. Ashish Jain, Founder and Director, IPCA. He highlighted the importance of responsible plastic disposal, waste segregation for recycling, and discussed government policies, implementation challenges, and the plastic collection chain.

Day 2 was focused on Solar Energy for Sustainable Development, addressed by Prof. Mukesh Rana (DU), Dr. Anamika Thakur (ICAR), and Dr. Narendra Kumar (Swalamban, Delhi). The session on solar PV and thermal technologies highlighted national initiatives such as the National Solar Mission and PM-KUSUM, reflecting the vision of “One Sun, One World, One Grid.”

These sessions enriched teachers’ understanding of sustainable practices and renewable energy innovations, aligning with the school’s commitment to environmental stewardship.
