Earth Day 2025

Salwan Public School observed Earth Day on April 22, 2025, reaffirming its commitment to environmental stewardship, under the theme ‘Our Power, Our Planet’, which calls for global unity in the pursuit of renewable energy.

A wide range of engaging activities were organized to inspire students to take ownership of protecting the environment. The Primary Wing led a special assembly that featured heartfelt speeches by our youngest learners from kindergarten. These young voices passionately emphasised the importance of everyday actions—such as reducing plastic use, planting trees, and conserving water—to protect our planet.

Adding vibrancy to the event, the kindergarten students presented a lively dance performance that symbolically portrayed eco-friendly actions like planting trees, saving water, and minimising waste. The performance delivered a compelling message about environmental care through expressive movement and energy. The budding environmentalists created thoughtful Earth Day slogans and placards, reinforcing the message of sustainability. They enjoyed colouring worksheets and crafting clay models of trees and plants, showcasing their creativity and love for nature.

The Senior Wing conducted a special assembly focused on elephant conservation, aiming to raise awareness about the challenges faced by this endangered species. Students shared powerful reflections on wildlife preservation and the need to protect our biodiversity. A thought-provoking skit by Class VI depicted the threats faced by elephants in the wild and emphasised the urgency of conservation efforts. The performance was both informative and emotionally impactful. The event concluded with a collective pledge, where students promised to take meaningful actions in support of elephant protection and environmental conservation.

At Salwan Public School, Earth Day is a reminder of our shared responsibility to care for the planet. The school continues to promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices through thoughtful education and action-driven initiatives.
