CBSE Capacity Building Programme on Art Integration

A CBSE Capacity Building Programme on Art Integration was conducted on 5 March 2026 to facilitate teachers to incorporate art effectively into classroom teaching. The workshop was facilitated by Dr. Mosam Sinha, Professor, BML Munjal University, Rohtak, and Ms. Bhumika Mehndiratta, PRT, VVDAV Public School, Vikas Puri, New Delhi. The programme highlighted how art can enhance creativity, engagement, and holistic learning among students.

Dr. Mosam Sinha began the session by emphasising the importance of mental wellbeing and introduced the concept of WELLNESS, focusing on empathy, nurturing strengths, emotional support, and a positive classroom environment. He explained different forms of art education and highlighted the benefits of art integration using the mnemonic BRIDGE, showing how art connects subjects, encourages deep thinking, and promotes real-life learning.

Ms. Bhumika Mehndiratta discussed the importance of art integration in addressing diverse learning styles and making classrooms more innovative and inclusive. She shared practical examples of incorporating art into regular teaching to enhance student participation and creativity.

In the following session, Dr. Sinha guided teachers on designing art-integrated learning tasks, emphasising clear learning outcomes, effective assessment, and structured lesson planning through the LAAR framework (Learning Outcomes, Activity, Assessment, Review) and the ABCD model for measurable outcomes.

The final session focused on resources for art integration, including community support, infrastructure, ICT tools, and CBSE resources that can help teachers effectively implement art-integrated learning.

The programme was insightful and interactive, equipping teachers with practical strategies to make learning more engaging, creative, and holistic.
