CBSE Capacity Building Workshop on “Storytelling as a Pedagogy”

Salwan Public School, Rajendra Nagar, organised a CBSE Capacity Building Workshop on ‘Storytelling as a Pedagogy’ on 5 March 2026. The workshop aimed to introduce teachers to innovative ways of integrating storytelling into the teaching-learning process.

The session was conducted by Dr. Meenakshi Gupta, Principal, S.D. Public School, Patel Nagar, and Ms. Neha Jain, PGT, Brain International School, Vikas Puri. Through interactive activities, participants shared personal experiences and explored visual storytelling by illustrating and identifying well-known stories.

The facilitators highlighted the importance of storytelling in enhancing students’ critical thinking, creativity, communication, and emotional understanding. Various forms of storytelling – oral, written, visual, digital, and through performing arts – were discussed as effective classroom strategies.

The workshop concluded with a hands-on activity in which teachers designed subject-specific lesson plans integrating storytelling techniques across different subjects.

The workshop was highly enriching and provided practical strategies to make classroom learning more engaging and meaningful.
