Theme of the Month: Parenting, Community and Climate Challenges

In August 2025, Salwan Public School deepened its commitment to the SDGs through the interdisciplinary project under the theme of the month ‘Parenting, Community and Climate Challenges & Predator and Prey: Balance in the Antarctic Ecosystem’. Students explored global challenges by engaging in interactive reading, creative interpretation, and collaborative learning tasks.

Activities such as story mapping, poster making, analytical discussions, and digital presentations fostered critical thinking and teamwork. Learners reflected on how comprehension extends beyond reading to understanding, connecting, and contributing meaningfully to the world thereby cultivating empathy, awareness, and collective responsibility for building a more informed and inclusive future.

Theme of the Month:  Adaptations and Survival Strategies in Extreme Climate

In July 2025, the school initiated dynamic SDG-integrated activities under the theme of the month Adaptations and Survival Strategies in Extreme Climate and Flight, Freedom, and the Impact of Ocean Pollution Through cross-disciplinary projects, students explored the lives of Elephant Seals and Albatrosses, learning about adaptation, resilience, and the human impact on marine ecosystems.

Engaging tasks—ranging from creative dialogues, research cards, mathematical explorations, and scientific models to visual art, dramatization, and reflective writing—fostered empathy, environmental awareness, and global responsibility. These immersive experiences inspired learners to connect classroom concepts with real-world sustainability challenges, nurturing a generation of mindful change makers.

Theme of the Month: Frozen Frontiers, Global Impact

The month of May unfolded as a dynamic journey of learning and action under the theme ‘Power of One – Power of Individual Action for a Sustainable Future.’ With a special focus on ‘Frozen Frontiers, Global Impact’. Students from VI – IX engaged in subject-integrated activities that connected classroom learning with real-world sustainability challenges.

From mathematical analyses to scientific studies on marine conservation, and from reflective poems to artistic collages, every activity underscored environmental responsibility, highlighting Antarctica’s fragile ecosystem and the beauty and vulnerability of the Southern Ocean. Each initiative aimed to nurture awareness, empathy, and accountability towards the Sustainable Development Goals—particularly Climate Action, Life below Water, and Responsible Consumption.
