Workshop on Classroom Communication that Boosts Confidence and Participation
A workshop on “Classroom Communication that Boosts Confidence and Participation” was organised for teachers of Salwan Public School on 25th April 2026. The session was conducted by Dr. Aprajita Khanna, Consultant Clinical Psychologist (RCI Registered), Child & Adolescent Psychologist, and Family Counsellor, with over ten years of experience in the field of mental health.
The focus of the workshop was on how classroom communication can help build student confidence and increase participation. The session was practical and interactive, with teachers taking part in group discussions, case studies, and role plays. These activities gave teachers a chance to reflect on their own communication styles and learn simple ways to make students feel more comfortable speaking in class.
Dr. Khanna spoke about the importance of listening to students, using encouraging language, and creating a classroom where students are not afraid to make mistakes. She also shared useful strategies to involve quieter students and handle common classroom situations more effectively.
The session concluded with a question-answer round, where teachers discussed real classroom challenges and received helpful suggestions. The workshop was well-received by the teachers as it provided practical ideas that can be easily used in the classroom to improve student confidence and participation.
