Workshop on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act

Salwan Public School, Rajender Nagar, organised a workshop on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for its staff members on Friday, 22nd August 2025, led by Mr. Kunal Sharma, a renowned POCSO Act Trainer under the Concept of Living Charitable Trust, Government of India.

Through interactive discussions, real-life case studies, and practical insights, the workshop sensitised teachers and administrative staff about the vital provisions of the POCSO Act. Mr. Sharma strongly emphasised the role of educators as first-line protectors, highlighting vigilance, early identification of risks, and the responsibility of creating a safe school environment.

The session further shed light on reporting mechanisms, preventive strategies, and the importance of empathetic support for children. An engaging Q&A round at the end encouraged staff to clarify doubts and strengthen their understanding of their crucial role in safeguarding children.
