Independence Day Celebrations at SPS
Salwan Public School, RN celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India with immense pride, patriotism and enthusiasm. The celebration brought together the school management, distinguished guests from Delhi Police, teachers and students to honour the nation’s freedom and reaffirm the values of courage, sacrifice, unity and responsibility.
The school was honoured to welcome Ms. Kiran Sethi, popularly known as the “Lady Singham” of Delhi Police, and Shri Prashant Choudhary, Additional DCP, Central District, Delhi Police, along a team of other distinguished police officers. The National Flag was hoisted with due solemnity, followed by the rendition of the National Anthem.
Ms. Kiran Sethi, distinguished guest, addressed the gathering and emphasised the importance of discipline, courage and responsible citizenship. She inspired the students to uphold the values of unity, service and patriotism, and contribute positively to the nation’s progress.
Major General Sanjeev Shukla, VSM (Retd), School Director, addressed the gathering, emphasising the significance of freedom and the responsibility of every citizen. Students presented a soulful patriotic musical performance and a powerful Nukkad Natak, “Swatantrata Sangram Ke Ankahi Pehlu”, highlighting the lesser-known heroes of India’s freedom struggle. Mrs. Priyanka Barara, Principal, inspired students to become responsible and compassionate citizens.
Students were also felicitated for their achievements in various events. The celebration concluded with a vibrant dance performance, reflecting India’s rich heritage and aspirations for a stronger, Viksit Bharat, followed by spirited chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai! Jai Hind! Jai Bharat!”
