How inquiry-led classrooms are shaping our learners

Why we trade rote answers for better questions — and what that looks like inside a Salwan science lab.

In a Salwan classroom, a lesson rarely begins with an answer. It begins with a question — often one a student has asked. Why does the bridge hold? What would happen if we changed this variable? The teacher's job is not to hand over the solution, but to help the class find a good way to investigate it.

Inquiry-led learning takes more time than rote instruction, and that is the point. Students who build their own understanding remember it longer, transfer it further, and — most importantly — leave school believing that hard problems are worth attempting.
