From Tradition to Expression – Celebrating World Dance Day

Salwan Public School celebrated World Dance Day with great enthusiasm, showcasing India’s vibrant dance heritage. The event began with an elegant classical medley featuring Kathak, Kuchipudi, and Bharatanatyam, wherein students portrayed expressive storytelling through rhythm, grace, and tradition.

The celebrations continued with lively folk dances from Assam, Punjab, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan, each reflecting the unique spirit and culture of its region. These performances beautifully highlighted the idea of unity in diversity and emphasised dance as a powerful medium that transcends language barriers and fosters emotional and cultural connection.

In her address, Principal Ms. Priyanka Barara applauded the students for their passion and talent. She highlighted the role of dance in preserving cultural heritage and promoting global harmony. The celebration was not just a performance but deepened the students’ appreciation for Indian traditions and fostered creative expression.
