Nurturing Nature and Growing Skills: Kaushal Bodh Project for Class VI

Class VI students explored the fascinating journey of growing food through a four-month Kitchen Garden Project under the CBSE Kaushal Bodh curriculum. The project offered them an opportunity to learn about gardening through practical experiences and develop a deeper connection with nature.

Students explored vertical gardening and learnt about seasonal kitchen-garden plants. They participated in soil preparation, sowing, watering and caring for the plants, while observing, measuring and recording their growth. Through these activities, they understood the importance of sunlight, water and nutrients for healthy plant development.

They also identified different edible parts of plants and observed the complete growth cycle—from germination and seedling formation to flowering, fruiting and harvesting. The hands-on experience nurtured teamwork, patience, responsibility and observation skills, while encouraging care for living organisms and sustainable practices.

The project reflected the spirit of learning by doing, helping students understand nature, develop practical skills and appreciate the rewarding journey from seed to harvest.
